I wanted to make a quick gift box for V-day but used some cool processes with the material
Specifically, by laser cutting slits in thin plywood, I was able to make it much more plyable (pun intended). This took some trial and effort, as different kinds and dimensions of slits resulted in different axes of flexibility Ultimately I landed on this design, which offered the most flexibility in one direction only, which is all I needed.
Constructing the box
After that all it took was cutting out the parts, including a glue up jig, etching in any notes and designs, and gluing it all up.
Now to make the truffles…
